Privacy Policy

Jonggyeol (“the app”) is an e-book reader made by the developer DGSTUDIO (“the developer”). This policy explains what information the app handles and how.
1. Personal information collected by the developer: none
- The app has no sign-up or login, and the developer runs no servers.
- The developer does not collect or store personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, location or contacts.
- The app does not request storage, location, contacts, camera or microphone permissions. On iPhone and iPad, it only asks whether you allow tracking for personalized ads.
2. Information stored only on your phone
- The app stores copies of the book files you import (TXT, EPUB, PDF), your reading positions, bookmarks and notes, your reading settings, and whether you have purchased “Remove ads” on your phone.
- This information is never sent to the developer. It is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear the app’s data in your phone’s settings.
- Depending on your phone’s backup settings, it may be included in Android Auto Backup (your own Google account) or iCloud Backup (your own Apple Account).
- When importing books, the app reads only the files and folders you choose yourself in your phone’s file picker.
3. Information processed by third-party services
Some features of the app use the third-party services below. Information is processed by each provider under its own privacy policy; the developer does not receive or store it.

When you use “Read aloud” | The sentences being read. If you choose a voice that requires the internet, the text may be sent to the speech engine provider’s servers. |
- Google uses information such as the advertising ID to show ads, measure ad performance and prevent fraud.
- In regions where consent is required, such as the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the app asks for consent before showing ads. You can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings → Display → “Ad privacy settings”. In some US states, you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information from the same menu.
- On iPhone and iPad, the app asks whether you allow tracking before using the advertising identifier (IDFA). If you don’t allow it, you’ll see non-personalized ads, and you can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- On Android phones, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone’s settings under Google → Ads.
- Once you purchase “Remove ads”, the app no longer shows ads or uses the ads SDK.

4. Your rights and how to delete data
- Delete app data (Android): uninstall the app, or go to your phone’s Settings → Apps → Jonggyeol → Storage → Clear data.
- Delete app data (iPhone · iPad): deleting the app also deletes its data (Settings → General → iPhone Storage → Jonggyeol → Delete App).
- Advertising identifier: on Android, Settings → Google → Ads; on iPhone and iPad, Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

5. Children’s privacy
The developer does not directly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app is intended for users aged 16 and over.
6. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
