Knotify Terms of Use

Knotify (the "App") is a yarn puzzle game made by the developer DGSTUDIO (the "Developer"). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service

The App offers puzzles in which you link same-colored buttons with yarn to solve small boards and use that yarn to knit a picture row by row (built-in patterns), and a feature that turns a photo you choose into a pattern you can knit. The App includes sample patterns made from photos of the Developer's own cat. There is no sign-up or login, and every feature runs on your device.

2. Photos You Choose and the Patterns Made from Them

1) Use only photos you took yourself or that you have permission to use from the rights holders (copyright owners, people pictured, etc.).

2) Do not use photos that:

· contain someone else's work (drawings, characters, comic or film scenes, logos, photographers' works, etc.) without the rights holder's permission;

· show another person's face or likeness without that person's consent;

· are unlawful or harm another person's rights or reputation.

3) You hold the rights to, and are responsible for, your photos and the patterns made from them. You are responsible for any dispute or damage caused by breaking item 2).

4) Photos are turned into patterns (color information for each cell plus the boards) only on your device and are never sent to the Developer or made public. The Developer does not access your photos or patterns and has no right to use, modify or distribute them.

5) You can delete patterns at any time from the "My Photos" list in the App.

3. Coins and Paid Items

1) Coins can be earned by playing, by watching ads, or by purchase in the App, and can be spent on helpers (Pairs, Dead ends, Hint) and on making photo patterns. Coins and free hints cannot be exchanged for cash or other goods, or transferred to others.

2) Payments for paid items (coin packs, the first-purchase starter pack, No Ads, Unlimited Photo Patterns, and the bundle "Remove Ads + Unlimited Photos") are handled by the App Store or Google Play, and cancellations and refunds follow each store's policies and procedures. Coins and hints that have already been used may not be refundable.

3) The first-purchase starter pack (coins and free hints) can be bought only once. "No Ads", "Unlimited Photo Patterns" and the bundle are permanent items; if you change devices or reinstall the App, you can get them back with "Restore purchases" in the App's shop using the same App Store or Google Play account.

4) Coins and progress are saved on your device and also in your own iCloud (iPhone/iPad) or Google Play Games (Android) account, so you can continue on another device of the same kind with the same account. If you delete the App or its data before cloud saving has happened, or move to a different kind of device (iPhone ↔ Android), your coins and progress will not carry over and the Developer cannot restore them (permanent items can be recovered with "Restore purchases").

5) Your first photo pattern is free (the sample patterns included in the App are free in addition to this); after that, a photo pattern costs coins or a free ticket (given each time a new stage opens). Coins are earned the first time you complete a built-in pattern, not when you complete it again or complete a photo pattern. Prices and rewards may change for the operation of the game.

4. Ads

The App shows two kinds of ads. (1) Rewarded ads that you watch only when you tap them — watch to the end to receive a reward such as coins or a hint (the shop's "Watch a video for coins" has a daily limit). (2) An app-open ad shown once when you start the App or return after a long time — it is not shown the first time you open the App after installing, and it stops completely once you buy "No Ads" or the bundle (it still appears if you have bought only coins or "Unlimited Photo Patterns"). No ads are forced on you during play. Ads are provided by Google AdMob; in regions where consent is required, you can change your choice in the App under "Info > Ad privacy options".

5. Intellectual Property

The rights to the App's program, screen design, artwork, built-in patterns, sound effects, etc. belong to the Developer (open-source components included in the App follow their own licenses, which you can view under "Info > Open Source Licenses" in the App). You may not copy, distribute or sell them without the Developer's permission.

6. Limitation of Liability

1) The Developer tries to provide the App reliably, but the App may stop working or saved data may be lost due to device conditions, operating system changes, etc., and the Developer is not liable for this unless caused by the Developer's intent or gross negligence.

2) The Developer is not responsible for the content of photos you use or for disputes arising from their use.

7. Changes to These Terms

The Developer may change these Terms when necessary and will announce the changes through an App update or a notice in the App.
